We are frequently asked to recommend a hotel. There are many good hotels in La Paz, but these are the ones that have been used by our charters and they all have something special. We checked these rates in August, 2005.

CASA MEXICANA INN: Our favorite. A bed and breakfast, five rooms with private baths. The gracious American hostess has created the elegance of Old Mexico. One block off the Malecon (street by the water) and right downtown. Very popular, early reservations advised. Website; http://www.casamex.com, email; inn@casamex.com. and phone; 011-52-612-125-2748. Great website with everything. Rates start at $65.

HOTEL EL MORO: Slightly east of town. Beautiful setting with a nice pool, excellent rates especially for larger parties. website;http://clubelmoro.com, email; elmoro@prodigy.net.mx and phone; 011-52-612-122 4084. Another great website. Rates start at $70.

HOTEL LOS ARCOS: Right on the Malecon. Only three blocks from where Seascape docks. They also have cabanas which are very attractive. Older, but still one of the best. The hotel has a fine restaurant and bar. Beds are mostly double. Website; http://losarcos.com. From the U.S. 800-347 2252. Rates start at $95.

HACIENDA del CORTEZ: It used to be called LA POSADA DE ENGELBERT, but it is under new ownership. West of downtown, right on the beach. Very charming setting. An excellent restaurant. Email; sogden@prodigy.net.mx,phone; 011-52-612-122-4011. Rates start at $65.

CASABUENA: A bed and breakfast, just off the Abasolo, the street that comes into La Paz from the airport. It is run by an American couple, Milton & SuSu Sanders. It is very private, but not as elegant as the others on this list. Great prices, especially for groups. Website; http://casabuenalapaz.com, email; miltuna@hotmail.com and phone;011-52-612-122-5538. Rates start at $55.
